Josh Barro is a trombonist and music educator in the Treasure Valley.
Josh earned his B.M. in Music Education from Boise State University. His primary teachers were David Mathie and Sarah Paradis.
During his time at Boise State, he performed in numerous ensembles including Symphonic Winds, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Trombone Choir, Blue Thunder Marching Band, Brass Quintet and All-Campus Concert Band.
In addition to his duties as a public school music educator, Josh is an active freelance musician and private low brass instructor. He has made appearances with Opera Idaho, the Hymns of Thanksgiving Orchestra, and the Living Christmas Tree Orchestra (Nampa).
Josh has been teaching trombone and euphonium lessons to students of all ages since 2012. His goal as an instructor is to help develop each student into a better musician through an intensive study of their instrument and its music. At the core of each lesson is the focus on practice skills and fundamentals required on the instrument to master any musical challenge that the student may face. His students have had successful auditions at their school programs, Idaho All-State, and All-Northwest.
During his free time, Josh enjoys photography, basketball, and traveling with his wife. Josh is a member of the International Trombone Association and National Association for Music Education.
